This corrective surgery performed by a Lasik Excimer Laser device is developed to produce satisfactory and pain-free results. It is the most widely used treatment option to get rid of the need to wear eyeglasses for Myopia, Hypermetropia and Astigmatism, also known as Refraction Disorders. In this method a thin layer, called the flap, is lifted on the cornea. The treatment is applied on the inner side of the cornea tissue and then the lifted flap is replaced. Since the recovery area on the cornea is very small, recovery time is very short. This flap lifting operation is done using a femtosecond laser, rather than a microkeratome blade.
Lasik operations can be performed on patients over 18, whose dioptre value (eyeglass number) has not increased in the last year, whose cornea is suitable for the operation and who do not have any contraindications. While there can be burning, stinging and tearing complaints after several-minutes of long operation, these complaints cease within hours. MestCare team has researched for the best surgeons and institutions in their field, and we collaborate with the highest quality JCI approved surgeons and hospitals in Turkey who utilise state of the art equipment and techniques in modern ophthalmology.
Relex Smile technology is the latest state of the art Laser method. Unlike other laser systems, its distinguishing feature is the fact that the epithelium, the peak point of cornea, is not affected at all. The first stage of this operation consists of the creation of a small lens according to the patients’ eye volume and disorder by the Usermax Femtosecond device. This lens is called the Lenticular. In the second stage this lens is easily removed from the cornea through a very small incision using a spatula, this incision is approximately several millimetres long.
As the cornea nerves, responsible for tear formation, are protected to the maximum degree, there is no eye dryness complication after Relex Smile treatment. When Relex Smile treatment is compared to other Lasik options, there is no doubt incision free (non-flap) operation provided by Relex Smile provides an option free of flap (incision) complication, where the cornea and front chamber are protected. The correction effect achieved on the cornea, thanks to the removed lenticular, helps correct the myopia or astigmatism of the patient, improving their eyesight.
Relex Smile is counted among surgical treatments which improve life quality. As MestCare we collaborate with the highest quality JCI approved hospitals in Turkey who employ the best physicians and utilise state of the art technology as well as FDA and CE approved materials with best facilities and techniques in order to ensure high satisfaction and best results in our laser surgery treatments.
Cataract is a disorder characterised by the loss of transparency and development of opacity in the natural eye lens, which is located behind the eye pupil which maintains eyesight. In other words, it can be defined as a disruption of eyesight as if the patient looks on the world from behind a misted pane of glass.
While typically seen in people above the middle age range, cataract can also be seen in new-borns, diabetics, due to trauma and in people who take long-term cortisone medication.
Whether laser equipment is used or not, Phacoemulsification technique is one of the most modern, most preferred and most reliable types of cataract operation today. In Phacoemulsification operation entry into the eye chamber is obtained through a 2 mm wide incision in the cornea. After the lens capsule is peeled, the cataract itself is removed by being emulsified using an ultrasound laser, and then an eye lens is placed into the emptied capsule. This eye lens can be one of two types, consisting of Monofocal or Multifocal. No stitching is used and there is no pain or stinging complaints after the operation.
One of the most modern and state of the art technologies in cataract operations is cataract surgery with femtosecond laser. This technology allows performance of pain-free surgical operation without using blades, injections or stitches. In addition, if the patient also has pre-existing astigmatism, this complaint can also be corrected with laser surgery in the same session. Patients undergoing laser surgery can return to their normal life as early as the following day.
